The Basics of Paint Protection Film
Paint Protection Film (PPF), also known as “clear-bra”, is a film usually applied to front-facing surfaces, door edges, door handle cups, and any other areas that are susceptible to rocks, bugs, and other road debris thrown at it. Think of it as a puncture-resistant screen protector for your ride. This optically clear film is the ultimate solution for protecting that investment and can later be removed to reveal that preserved paint underneath. For total protection, the film can also be applied to the entire exterior surface of the vehicle.
What We Use
As a certified STEK installer, we can proudly say we offer the best quality film on the market to date. With cutting edge technology, STEK’s DYNOshield film is leading the pack by being the glossiest film and having the least amount of orange peel amongst other brands with a nano-ceramic topcoat bonded to the film’s surface. This provides extreme hydrophobic properties and eliminates the need for aftermarket waxes and ceramic coatings. DYNOshield also has strong self-healing properties allowing light surface scratches to “heal” back to its glossy finish and gives the customer peace of mind with its 10-year warranty.
On top of the already awesome features of DYNOsheild, STEK also offers a wide range of “fashion” paint protection film for those who want protection AND something to get them noticed on the road. These are manufactured using the same materials but with different finishes such as matte, carbon fiber, damascus, chameleon prismatic flake, and a variety of different color-pigmented films such as red, black, purple, grey, white and so forth. Note that these are much thicker than traditional vinyl wraps and are made more for protection.
